MobiBank®, the global mobile-first financial platform, today announced a major step in its international expansion strategy with the execution of a Letter of Intent (LOI) to launch full-scale digital banking operations in Nigeria - one of the world’s most dynamic and fastest-growing fintech markets.

The initiative includes a planned $10 million capital deployment structured in two phases, aligned with a valuation reference of €271 million, underscoring MobiBank’s ambition to accelerate its position as a global challenger in mobile-native banking.

Targeting one of Africa’s largest populations: Nigeria is estimated at approximately 230 million people - creating exceptional scale for mobile-driven financial adoption. MobiBank’s rollout is designed to serve a broad mobile-native population spanning consumers, entrepreneurs, and small businesses who rely primarily on smartphones for access rather than legacy banking infrastructure.

The platform is purpose-built for: underserved individuals, young digitally native users entering the financial ecosystem, SMEs and merchants needing instant payment and credit tools, telecom-driven distribution models, and cross-border users requiring low-friction digital transactions.

A platform built for next-generation users: MobiBank® delivers 30+ integrated financial services within one mobile environment - digital banking, payments, blockchain-enabled transfers, crypto and multi-asset management, and micro-lending solutions - built on mobile-native architecture designed for speed, scalability, and inclusion from day one.

Execution model: local scale, global control. The expansion will be delivered through a dedicated Nigerian joint venture responsible for nationwide operations, including digital banking services, microfinance, merchant acquiring, agent banking, and telecom integrations.

MobiBank® will retain full ownership of core technology, intellectual property, and global licensing rights - enabling centralized innovation while supporting rapid regional rollout.

Jussi Teeriaho, Founder & CEO of MobiBank®, stated:
“We are building financial infrastructure for populations that leapfrog legacy banking entirely. Nigeria is a launchpad for scalable financial inclusion, where mobile technology is already the primary gateway to economic participation.”

Designed for expansion beyond a single market: The Nigeria deployment is structured as the first stage of a broader international rollout spanning Africa, Europe, the United States, GCC countries, and North America. MobiBank’s model combines centralized technology ownership with regional operating entities - generating revenue through licensing, royalties, and ongoing platform services while supporting long-term global valuation growth.
