The partner model

We bring the platform. You bring the market.

MobiBank does not enter new markets exclusively from Europe. In each country we establish a local MobiBank company with a local partner and a local management team. The platform is already built, so a new market is a matter of licensing, localisation and distribution, not years of development.

Already underway

Nigeria is the blueprint.

The model is not a theory. MobiBank Africa has been established with a local partner, and Nigeria, a market of more than 230 million people, is being developed as the first African operating market. The agreements behind it are ready to be used again. MobiBank Nigeria has now selected a strategic partner and shareholder, which has signed a significant investment agreement to acquire a minority stake.

Questions partners ask

Partner FAQ

How does the MobiBank partner model work?

MobiBank establishes a local MobiBank company in each new market together with a local partner and a local management team. MobiBank provides the banking platform, technology, brand and compliance frameworks. The partner provides a financial commitment, local networks, support through licensing, and distribution. MobiBank retains majority ownership and strategic direction.

Which countries is MobiBank looking for partners in?

MobiBank is open to partners in markets across Africa, the Middle East, Asia and the Americas, with a particular focus on growth markets where millions of people are gaining access to digital financial services for the first time. Nigeria is MobiBank's first implementation market, with expansion into the remaining selected African markets planned in subsequent phases. Strategic partner and market-entry negotiations are already underway across these markets. The model and agreements are ready to run in additional countries in parallel.

Do I need a banking licence to become a partner?

No. Many partners are business groups, investors or distribution networks rather than banks. The licensing pathway is assessed market by market. Depending on local regulation, the local company may apply for its own licence or begin operating through a licensed partner while its own application progresses.

What does a partner invest?

Each partner makes a financial commitment to the local MobiBank company, sized to the market, the licensing route and the launch plan. Terms are agreed individually after a market assessment and are subject to due diligence and separate documentation.

What does MobiBank provide to a new market?

The complete MobiBank platform, localised to the market's currency, language and regulation: accounts, payments, cards, transfers, remittance, mobiAI guidance and financial education, plus compliance and security frameworks, the MobiBank brand and marketing, and ongoing product development.

How long does it take to launch MobiBank in a new country?

Because the platform is already built, the timeline is driven by licensing and local readiness rather than software development. Licensing timelines vary by country and regulator. A typical path runs from agreement to licensing, then a controlled pilot, then national roll-out.

Can MobiBank work where internet connectivity is unreliable?

MobiBank is developing its patented Netless™ technology, intended to enable essential banking services and payments without an internet connection, starting with the Alpha 1 device. The capability remains under development. It is designed for exactly the growth markets where connectivity cannot be assumed.

How do I start a partnership conversation?

Contact MobiBank with your market, your organisation and your network. The first step is an introductory conversation, followed by a market assessment under NDA.
